Dagga Infused Beer to be Sold at Major Retailer, But Still no Clarity on What is “Private Use.” The ACDP has already publically requested the Parliament of South Africa to convene a meeting to identify what “personal and private use” of dagga means. The term is so broadly and liberally presented that almost anything goes. In line with this, a Durban based brewing company has now crafted a cannabis infused beer, which will be publically available from a major retailer across the whole of South Africa before the end of this month. If these are then bought and used at a public area where there is a braai or rugby or soccer game, would this be considered for personal use or does this infringe on public consumption? On 18 September 2018 the ACDP called on parliament to make its position on this matter known as soon as possible.
